Please note that XBOX Series X|S games must be played directly from the internal SSD. The external USB HDD can be used to store XBOX Series X|S games as a buffer, but they cannot be played directly from the USB HDD. However, you can play XBOX ONE games directly from the USB extended storage, which will free up space on your XBOX Series X|S console's internal storage.
To play XBOX Series X|S games, you will need to copy the game data from the USB hard drive back to the console's internal SSD storage. This process is much quicker than re-downloading the game.
